OABA Bowling for Scholarships raised more than $2,000 for scholarships

Sixty-six Ohio AgriBusiness Association members came together for the 2014 Bowling for Scholarships event in Maumee. The event is held annually to raise money for the OABA Educational Trust scholarship program, through which nearly $35,000 in scholarship dollars is provided annually to students enrolled in an agriculture-related field attending The Ohio State University and Ohio State’s Agricultural Technical Institute, Clark State Community College and Wilmington College.

Through bowler registration and an onsite 50/50 drawing and prize raffle, the event raised more than $2,000 for scholarships along with the Educational Trust sponsorships of $12,500. In addition to being charitable, many of the bowlers were focused on the competition!

The results from this year’s bowling event are as follows:

First Place Team – Andersons #1, comprised of Dawn Barnhisel, Rick Donald, Ken Schmenk, Beth McAllister and Bonnie Hartman

Second Place Team – Deshler #1, comprised of Jared Rohrs, Jon Bower, Phil Breece, Kyle Hogrefe and Bobby Trumbull

“A” Flight Individual Winner – Tony Romaker, Mid-Wood, Inc.

“A” Flight Runner-Up – Josh Mulinix, The Andersons, Inc.

“B” Flight Individual Winner – Bobby Kobold, The Andersons, Inc.

“B” Flight Runner-Up – Jason Artz, The Andersons, Inc.
