Ohio Gov. John Kasich will sign Senate Bill 1 into law after it passed in both the House of Representatives and Senate this past week. Based on sound agronomics, the bill bans the application of fertilizer on frozen, snow covered or saturated ground or when there is a 50 percent chance or greater of more than 1 inch of rain within 12 hours.

The American Feed Industry Association will hold Phase II Food Safety Modernization Act training sessions through webcasts May 5 and 19 and June 2. The program will focus on different components of the FSMA "Current Good Manufacturing Practices and Hazard Analysis and Preventive Controls for Food for Animals" proposed rule.
