Ohio Wheat Quality and Viability Issues Discussed at Findlay Seminar

More than 80 Ohio AgriBusiness Association members gathered in Findlay on Sept. 1 to learn more about and address wheat crop issues across the state. OABA members now have access to video recordings of the seminar to share knowledge with their customers.

Co-hosted by OABA and the Ohio Small Grains Marketing Program, the free half-day seminar titled “What to Do About Wheat” provided OABA members the opportunity to learn more about wheat issues that they can share with their customers, including the decline in wheat acreage, wheat quality and the long-term viability of wheat mills in Ohio.

“We are pleased to have been able to partner with our friends at the Ohio Small Grains Marketing Program to host such a high quality seminar for our members,” said OABA President and CEO Chris Henney. “The information shared will not only benefit those who attended the program in person, but with the video recordings we’ll be able to reach many more people over the coming weeks.”

Speakers and presenters at the event included:

  • Jay McAllister, Mennel Milling Co.

  • Pierce Paul, Ohio State University Extension

  • Mark Smith, Natural Resources Conservation Service

  • Jim Howe, Star of the West Milling Co.

  • Chris Henney, OABA

  • Brad Moffitt, OCWGA
