Chief Financial Officer

CHS Member Cooperative in Stevens Point, Wisconsin

CHS Aligned Solutions is partnering with a successful agricultural retailer to provide Selection Services in hiring a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) located approximately a half hour south of Stevens Point, Wisconsin.
 
Summary:
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be responsible for directing the organizations financial planning & accounting practices. The role will foster relationships with lending institutions, shareholders, and the financial community in addition to internal departments. This role will model a high level of professionalism and lead a team with the mindset of continual improvement, as well as display a high level of integrity through daily interactions.
 
Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with all federal and state laws as it pertains to financial, tax, and payroll compliance.
  • Directly supervises payroll / AP / AR / Payroll team members responsibilities including assisting in the training, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Directs staff in providing and directing procedures and computer systems necessary to maintain proper records and to afford adequate accounting controls and services.
  • Coordinates and conducts internal audits involving review of accounting and administrative controls.
  • Collaborates with executive and operational teams to develop and monitor capital and operational budgets, forecasts, and cash flows.

Key Deliverables:

  • Establishes controls for new financial systems and develops ways to improve existing systems.
  • Ability to work with team members from across the organization to identify, design, and implement department level financial information.
  • Analyzes, consolidates, and directs all cost accounting procedures together with other statistical and routine reports.
  • Develops and implements goals, policies, priorities, and procedures relating to financial management, budgeting, accounting, and/or payroll.
  • Identifies and Implements financial best practices.
  • Oversees and ensures accuracy of transactions and transactional systems.
  • Participates in key decisions as a member of the executive management team.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred Master’s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration and/or 10+ years applicable experience.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills including technical writing experience for policies and procedures.
  • Must be organized, able to work independently, capable of multitasking and achieving results including the ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously with a hands-on approach in a fast pace environment.
  • Detail oriented, goal driven and punctual with deadlines.
