Quality Assurance Technician

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Abide by all safety regulations to ensure safety of oneself, coworkers and customers
  • Pull samples of all inbound ingredients, split sample into two, one for retain (Vacuum Seal) and one for testing and or send to lab for analysis testing as scheduled
  • Visually inspect all incoming ingredients for signs of mold, insects, FM or abnormalities
  • Run and record moisture on all incoming ingredients
  • Run water activity on all incoming ingredients
  • Test all incoming corn and DDG’s for aflatoxin and fumonisin
  • Run brix test on all incoming molasses and record results
  • Pull samples of all items manufactured items and split sample into two one for retain (Vacuum Seal) and one for further testing and or send to lab for analysis as scheduled
  • Visually inspect each feed for abnormalities including insects, color, aroma, fines etc
  • Run PDI’s on all pelleted feed and record results
  • Run moistures on all pelleted feeds and record results
  • Run water activity on all pelleted feeds and record results
  • Compare bag totals to quantity run and document results
  • Review daily production records for accuracy, proper sequencing, proper medication use, recording and labeling
  • Investigate and resolve customer quality complaints
  • Conduct periodic housekeeping, sanitation, and pest control audits
  • Ensure that FIFO protocols are followed for warehoused items
  • Assist in production set-up to ensure proper formula, bags, tags, cases, labels, etc. are in place for production runs
  • Conduct periodic calibration checks
  • Other duties as assigned by your supervisor

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Respectable Mechanical Skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license, with acceptable driving record
  • Class A CDL
  • Previous feed experience
