OABA Signs Letter Supporting FARM to TABLE Act

The Ohio AgriBusiness Association, with state and national agricultural associations, has signed a letter to the U.S. House of Representatives in requesting co-support of the FARM to TABLE Act, which will help make the agricultural exception to the federal hours-of-service rules more widely available by making the exception available year round and by expanding its application to more agricultural products.

The intended effect is for agricultural truck transportation to become more efficient, which would allow for higher farmgate prices and lower food prices for consumers. Because of the agricultural exception, the hours-of-service regulations do not apply to the transportation of agricultural commodities for the 150 air-mile radius around the origin of the commodities.
