OABA Signs Letter of Support for Amendments to Occupational Licensing Reform Bill

The Ohio AgriBusiness Association recently worked in conjunction with other Ohio agriculture organizations to ensure a credible grain grading program remains in Ohio. The original House Bill 238 language would have removed the grain commodity tester certification currently required by the state of Ohio. OABA worked to keep the educational components of the current program in place as well as the reporting requirements to the Ohio Department of Agriculture. In the amended bill, the fee associated with the certificate was removed.

Substitute House Bill 238 passed out of the House on February 7, 2024, and now goes to the Senate. OABA will continue to monitor the progress of this legislation and will work with the Senate to ensure they know how important commodity testing is to Ohio agribusinesses and farmers.
